I was reading via the internet that yeast can give you slurred speech.

I have this and sound drunk all of the time. I also have to clear my throat constantly.

I am on Ceftin and Biaxin. I do take a cobiotic but read the yeast can turn up in different areas. I always assumed if I had a yeast problem it would show in the regular way. (Ladies you know what I mean)
Anyone have this, or know how I can get rid of the slurred speech?

Hmmmm. Maybe your LLMD could Rx you some diflucan.

See if the slurred speech clears up.

If not, it may be a neuro symptom from Lyme.

Are you clearing your throat constantly due to excessive spit/mucus?

Any swallowing difficulties?

Speech is the most neurologically complex act the body can perform.

Somewhere on the rate of 20,000-30,000 impulses per second.

Any minor problem in that system and well.....

Try slowing down. Think of what you want to say before you say it.

Using fillers such as um and ah will give your articulators a little more

Time (lips, tongue, etc) to try to hit target areas for sound production.

It isn't glamorous just a compensatory technique.

Slowing down really helps too.

Hugs,

Geneal

Yeast lives in the gut, intestine, around the organs, so just having a vaginal yeast infection doesn't mean you don't have yeast issues.

Diet change is ususally a good start

Sadly, yeast symptoms do mimic lyme symptoms, so it's often hard to be able to tell the difference. I was having no typical yeast issues that you mention and had been sticking STICTLY to the yeast candida diet for the last 14 months, but still ended up with yeast.

My doctor said that 14 months of abx often catch up with people, even on the diet, but that I had probably kept it away a lot longer with diet than many.

Still though, it's such a fine line between the two. Yes, I was slurring words and feeling disoriented and I was thinking the lyme was getting worse. It's easing up now though with the THIRD yeast med that he had to try me on.

It's probably best to run it all past your LLMD and he would be best to assess the situation, but yes, it COULD be yeast too, with no outward signs that YOU would notice.

I did have the white coated tongue though, so that was sort of a clue. But that was my only outward symptom.
