I take Biaxin and Amox and while it has been very effective I had reached a "plateau". With my Dr's guidance we added Samento to the mix. I've worked my way up to 14 drops per day and I'm feeling great. I went very slow and did not have any toxic or herx reactions.

I was wondering if anyone else was combining herbs with ABX and what herbs and ABX are you using and what the results are or have been?

After reading Scott's article in Public Health Alert I am very excited about the new products that they are coming out with.

I added Samento, Cumanda, parsley, and burbur when I was on heavy abx.

Now I am on Full Cowden with mino and Lariam.

I'm doing great, but I was off the plateau when I switched over .... I am being weaned off abx, but I am on Cowden plus herbs/supps because we know there is still some Lyme there (I herx badly on Tindamax).

I did the full Cowden while still on Omnicef, Zith, and Bicillin injections but only for 2 months. Then I dropped the abx and I am still on Cowden.

I was on various abx for a total of 23 months.

I am hopeful that when I finish the last 2 months I will be off it all :-)

I have used portions of the protocol / Nutramedix products while on ABX therapy. In fact, Dr. H does this with some patients as well I believe. What I am not sure of is if there are any specific products that don't mix well with specific antibiotics.

Be well,
Scott

Thanks for the answers. I have two bottles of unexpired and unopened bottles of Cumanda that I'm dying to use once I'm up to my full dose of Samento.

My doctor is pretty conservative, though, and I'm not sure if he'll like the idea.

I also want to try some of the new stuff.

Lucy - I hope you are done, too!

Make sure you guys check for interactions and herb compatibility before trying any of this without a good LLMD 's guidance who knows what they are doing. [Smile]

Wild Condor, all this was done under the supervision of my LLMD. He uses Cowden frequently and has good results from it.

Good advice, Wild Condor. I always check with my Dr. before I do anything.

It's not just the antibiotics along with the herbs, some of the herbs themselves are incompatible with other herbs and they have to be dosed correctly and on the right time schedule as well. Hope that helps [Smile]

You have to download it, but here is the link to the Nutramedix product compatibility chart

I actually started cumanda and burbur last summer when I began to suspect my CFS was Lyme, not viral related. I was diagnosed in October and put on amoxicillin by my out of state LLMD. I pulsed that for two months with no improvement. I had made gradual modest improvements with the cumanda, but I also had a lot of herxing on it, too.

December, my LLMD switched me to doxycycline. It pushed me off a plateau and cleared my brain fog in just a few weeks. However, fatigue, burning skin, and malaise remained.

I then tried azithromycin 1/4 tablet and pulsed that. It makes me feel awful though.

I still take the cumanda and just started 1 drop of samento today. I consider myself 70% and am working on overcoming the last 30%.

I think the cumanda helps with the yeast especially from the abx.
