I am to be on Babesia treatment now, I am seeing a new LLMD.

I am to start on Mepron and Azithromycin.
I tested positive, 1:80 on the WA-1 strain at IGENEX and positive on the FISH. Anyone else test a 1:80 on IGENEX Babesia test and how were you feeling? I am also postive for lyme again.

Is it ok to start on azithromycin and then add in the Mepron in 2-3 weeks? or is it not a good idea and start the 2 together?

I have not heard back from the LLMD, and tomm I see my other Dr.

I am trying to see if the Mepron will get approved. I may if I can, pay for the 1st month, but I may not be able to do this, if I want it covered, not sure.

I cannot stop the antibiotics for 1 day, I am on minocycline, and without an antibiotic, I cannot go on. Breathing and much worse.

thanks,

Trish

Trish, I don't see what it would hurt to start the zith early .... I would start the Mepron as soon as you get the approval.

I generally started one med at a time, waited to see if I reacted, then started another several days later. I think it's the smart thing to do so that if you have a reaction, you know which med is causing the trouble.

My husband started the Zithromax before the Mepron. It caused quite a herx so sometimes it's better to ease into taking these meds.

Starting Zith first should be fine- remember to take Mepron with fat!!!!!!!!!!!!! It absorbs that way-

I was on Zith for about a month before I started Mepron. We were waiting for test results before we started with the Mepron, so I took Zith in the mean time.

I don't think there's any problems, with it...my LLMD was the one who prescribed it that way.

Hi Trish--

Yep it is OK to take Zith and the add mepron -

I started both at the same time and did not herx
to bad --

Remember to take Mepron with fatty food like
Cali Said-- I take with Half and Half milk-
or butter or sausage or bacon ect--

You can also get Mepron for Free from
-- Bridges to Access -- GSK the maker --

It is perty easy to qualify you dont
have to be completely broke --

One you start taping Babs meds it is
SUPER Important to take them contentiously
and NOT to stop --

Stopping will cause relapse problems --

Also Take Artemisin - it helps stop relaps-
