Just wanted to share my recent experience with

appendicitis. When I arrived at the hospital

I was listed as abdominal pain. Blood culture

showed only a slight increase in white blood

cells. Temperature was 98.5 (I tried to explain

that was a fever for me, that normal is 96.4 but

was told that to them it is not a fever). I have

a high tolerance for pain (who with Lyme doesn't?)

so my pain rating of 4 is probably a normal

persons 8.

Because my blood test, the no fever, and I didn't

look like I was in enough pain - doctor's did not

think I had appendicitis. Maybe something else.

Thankfully, that doctor ordered a CAT Scan and

I had surgery 3 hours later.

Don't trust your immune system to act like

normally!

I recently went through the exact same thing. Got out of the hospital just before Christmas, except the pain for me was torture, to put it mildly.

Appendicitis is known for only slightly elevated white counts, and low grade fever. I was attibuting it to Babs. Surprise, surprise.

Get well soon!

hostbody, thank you for sharing your personal experience with us all.

LYMIES HAVE UNDER 98.6 TEMPS!

my white blood counts are high; no one can ever explain why, etc.

and i enjoyed our pms earlier tonight.

hostbody's personal story is in book 2 of PJ LANGHOFF'S "IT'S ALL IN YORU HEAD SERIES". i read it right before coming on here tonight since i can't remember long.

trueblue, if you are reading this, got to go back and read yours right before i come on here; it was excellent and i had specific comments on things you addressed in your story.

be careful about all the bending over you might do at work; that's what did me in from my gallbladder being taken out.

they took my appendix when they removed a colon polyp at end of colon; 2 for price of one; oh how i wish.

yes, what a way to get 2 extra months of iv abx! best wishes for a full recovery!! [group hug] [kiss]
