I'm embarrassed to ask this, but sorry, I'm so scared...

I've seen some red sticky discharge for quite a few days but my period was over two weeks ago. Not sure if it's side effects of abx combo (IV rocephin + IV zithromax for four weeks now), or weird lyme symptom?

I'll call Dr's office and ask, but in the mean time, can anyone here please advise?

Well, breakthrough bleeding is not uncommon ... the reason for it can vary. I'd call your doctor, but no need to freak out. [Smile]

It's probably sticky because it's near ovulation and that is a time of increased mucus.

called Dr's office and the nurse said it's yeast infection. They'll call my pharmacy for prescription...

That was quick!

Be sure to up your probiotics. I had to take Theralac, Ultra Flora, AND VSL#3 when I was on heavy abx!!!!

Also, avoid sugar.

Oh yes, I second it: possible breakthrough menstrual flow. Yes, see the doctor and no need to freak out. Breakthrough menstual flow can be caused by hormonal fluctuations and that's common. Could be something else.

I'd suggest fish oil because it strengthens cell walls and a good quality multiple and consider what the doc says.

sounds like ovulation with mid cycle bleeding,

i just started getting this.

do you have a gyno you can go see to get a culture to see if it is yeast?

That happened to me last week. Hate that. It's actually only happened a couple of times, sporatically. (sp?)

I'm thinking it's an age thing. Everything else is falling apart!

Actually, breakthrough bleeding can be age-related. It's very common prior to menopause.

will ask the doctor/nurse more during my appointment and will probably get it tested...

Since having Lyme, I now get a yeast infection

almost every month, whether I'm on abx or not.

It starts about 5 days before my period. My gyn

says that this is normal for some women. (great!

If something could be normal about me, it had to

be this!)

With having this so frequently it freaks me out

to keep using medicine for it. So, I've started

opening the probiotics capsule and I put it in a

syringe with water. And well, you can figure out

the rest. I do it at onset of symptoms and

usually this takes care of it!
