I hope someone knows the answer to this.

I am starting the Cowden Protocol. I just spoke with my LLMD (and forgot to ask him this one thing!) and he suggested overlapping antibiotics and the herbs for a few days until I am only on the herbs.

Anyone know if it's okay to take the herbs with the antibiotics? I just took my Doxy and am not sure how long I should wait until I take some of my herbs.

Anyone know this at all? Thanks!

I take my herbs with my abx. [Smile]

I take the Cumanda(30 drops)/parsley/trace minerals/serra peptase 30 mintues before breakfast and dinner.

I take armantilla/burbur/trace minerals/pinella right before breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

And I take adrenal/burbur right after breakfast and dinner, which is when I also take my mino.

I take Samento (20 drops) before bed.

Daughter does herbs and RX drugs, she just spaces them out a couple hours apart, just in case there is an interaction.

Never had a problem, been doing it for years.

Because there has been a lot of herbal uses in the past few years overall. Many Pharmacies now

have a match up in their computers which would give you any contraindications with any of the

prescription medications you take.

If they don't have it readily on hand you can always ask them and they will gladly look up whatever it is you're taking.

I don't know why more of the people taking medications and or herbals don't at least read

the accompanying litterature with their prescriptions. Not asking a pharmacist or

herbalist which drugs/herbs are contraindicated would be rather stupid considering these

meds/herbs are being ingested.

Here's a link to Dr. H's study on the Cowden Protocol http://www.ilads.org/files/compendium07/Horowitz.pdf. In the study is the schedule of when to take which herbs. It might be a help to print that out.

I take my herbs with my abx. I know minerals interact with abx, so I take the magnesium part of the protocol at a two hour interval, but with taking Cowden 7 times per day, it's pretty impossible to space out the herbs that way.

Hello sixgoofykids:

The link you provided to Dr. H's study on the Cowden Protocol did not work. It says page cannot be found.

I would really like to see this study as I am considering the Cowden Protocol.

Thanks.

I got it! When I clicked on the link directly, it didn't work, but when I entered the link address in the address bar it worked.

Thanks.

For those of you doing the Cowden protocol, do you think it is effective?

Sorry the link doesn't work ... if you remove the period at the end, it does.

I am on the Full Cowden along with mino, lariam, malarone, and nystatin. I've been on it for six weeks and feel the best I've felt in a LONG time! I cut my rx's way down .... I was off the malarone, but had air hunger come back, so he put me right back on malarone to take care of it.

I think it's worth trying Cowden .... then if you need to, you can always go back on meds or add them to it.

For the first time in YEARS, my mornings are good! I've had such adrenal issues that I could not get up in the morning, now I'm sleeping better and night and waking up earlier. I think it has a lot to do with the adrenal support.

I'm also feeling less toxic.

I look forward to their new babs herb that is supposed to come out soon.
