Those of you who take/have taken Lariam: -

How long did you take it for? Is there a max time limit?

If you found it helped you, what other Babs meds did you combine it with?

If you took it every 5 days, did you count day 1 as the day you took the tab?.....ie. if you take it on a Monday, do you take the next one on Friday?

Would appreciate any replies to these questions.

I took it with one Malarone per day and Artemisia. This was after 9 months of Mepron.

If I take it on Monday, I take it again on Saturday.

I took lariam with doxycycline for 5 months. My LLMD told me that lariam is generally not tolerated after 6 months, and he did not prescribe it for longer than 6 months.

I took lariam every five days. So if I took a pill on Monday, I would take the next one on Saturday.

I used to take lariam as you just said 1 being Monday and then 5 for Friday...
I have taken lariam longer than 6 months without any inconvinience.

I've taken it for about 4 months now along w/ mepron, doxy, art, bactrim, tinadamax and art. One more month to go.

I take it once a week after the inital loading dose.

Then switched the doxy out for zith along w. eveythig else.

I did the initial loading dose, was completely out of it for 2 days, nauseated, couldn't eat, headaches, dizzy and feeling as though I had one bad mamma jamma flu!

After those 2 crappy days BAM! I feel like my ol' self again. I felt so good after taking Larium.

Others have told me my color is better and I'm my ol' self again. Go figure... I always thought my color and personality was just fine.

This was just my experience w/ Larium.
