My son is on 30 days of Amoxicillin through Dr. J. However, he has come down wiht a bad cold and a double ear infection!
He's had 20 days of that 30 day prescritpion of Amox. He's switching over to Ceftin for his last 10 days. This is prescribed by his regular pediatrician, and Dr. J is ok with this.
Now with the Ceftin treat Lyme as well? Will it treat any other TBI's?
We're doing this because the Amoxicillin obviously didn't work on his ears, hence the ear infection.
Thanks!

The smurf pill ceftin packs a whollop if your kid eats any sweets I would tie the hands behind the back you can get oral thrush quick on ceftin I drank a regular pepsi on my vacation years ago and by that night my teeth got discolored and I started getting thrush over one pepsi. Make sure they use plenty of acidophilis it helps alot.

I was put on Ceftin for Lyme. I was told it's the most closely related oral abx to IV ceftriaxone and that it penetrates the nervous system well. I was also told it is good for sinuses/ears.
I noticed a temporary flare in neuro symptoms and then they seemed to get better and increased lung pain (i already had) and soreness in my guts. I believe all that was a herx. I did get a yeast infection on it as well.
Please let us know how your son does with it!
