I had to call the doc and see what to do. I had been on the doxy/rifampin combo since Feb 1st but after the initial bad herx, I continued to vomit and have bad nausea just about every other day.
I never did get up to full dose and was throwin up so much, I really don't know how much you could say I was getting.
I tried the no food, some food and alot of food methods to see what would help for me to keep it down.
Nothing seemed to help. Was also taking digestive enzymes and lots of probiotics...nothing seemed to help so I finally gave in and called Dr. C.
They told me to stop the meds for a few days and then start Ceftin. I took some thursday night...seemed fine so I continued on Friday....it was bad.
I vomited up everything again. So I didn't take any today. I felt weak and had that bad bone pain in my hips and legs. (not like the first herx but a bit too close for comfort).
Has anyone else had such a hard time with the vomitting from the abx? What if I can't keep any of them down?
I'm so discouraged by it all. I know I can't get well if I can't take the meds. What should I do?
Blessings, Kimberly

Guess that about says it all, eh?
But really... so sorry to hear you are having such a rough time of it. It can't be good!!!
I had a doctor tell me years ago... no matter who tells you to take meds on an empty stomach.. don't.
Could you have kicked your gut badly from the git-go by doing that.. and now it hates you?
Can you take a sip of pepto bismol to coat it and get it calmed down before you hear back from the doctor?
I can't tell you to stop your meds .. but I can say I would stop mine until I spoke with the doctor about the problems.
If orals are treating you this badly.. perhpas IV's might be more acceptable to your system?
Are you taking anything else that might be the problem or adding to the problem?
I see you take a lot of probiotics. Some folks.. like me.. have problems with them! If they contain milk.. even if you aren't allergic to milk.. that might be a consideration.
If they contain an ingredient with a name longer than from here to the moon... sometimes referred to as FOS.. that could also be causing problems.
Wish I had an answer to beat all.. but I don't... and please don't dispair.
There are other options. Please lettuce no how you are doing and what the doctor says.

I haven't ever had any trouble with the probiotics before so I don't know. Now it seems like I'm having trouble with everything.
I cut way back on most supplements because of all the trouble with my gut so there's not much else I'm taking right now.
On good days with no vomitting, I try and get in a few but don't want to overdo it since it's about a 50-50 chance I'll throw it all up.
My phone consult with the doctor is in a month. I'm gonna try and hold out and see if this passes.
How does it work to do IV's if you don't live near your doctor?
My "gut" instinct when first reading the protocols was that the bicillin seemed a good way to go and bypass the gut but when I got the appointment with the Dr. I wanted to wait and see what he recommended.
I am still feeling like doo doo but no vomiting today so that's a plus.
I never knew taking abx would be so hard!
