I have battled gastritis for years. You can do search under my name and put in "stomach pain" or gastritis and probably come up with quite a bit of stuff.

The only thing that has helped me is Nexium and treatment with my current dr for Lyme who does strictly alternative.

Some other things that have helped me are liquid carafate (prescription only) and licorice root tablets that you chew (dgl licorice). Aloe vera juice can be very soothing to the tummy as well.

I hope you get this under control. Its definately no fun at all!! Feel free to send me a private message if you have any other questions. Like I said, I TOTALLY know where you are coming from!

Just a caution about Prilosec or Nexium. The risk of bone fracture rises 44% in just one year on one of these meds. They prevent absorption of calcium and B12. Ducks often don't tell you this.

I am on Prilosec due to chronic gastritis, duodenitis, esophagitis, gastric atrophy, metaplasia, and an atrophied pancreas. I also have to take huge doses of prescription enzymes.

I already had osteopenia before starting the drug. Because of this, I take B Complex, calcium citrate, and 340 mgs. of Strontium daily. I also make sure I get a DEXA bone density test every two years.
