After waiting forever, I finally got my Igx lab results today. I think I'm positive for Bb, but my duck doc was clueless on interpretation.

I read Dr. C's explanation on lab results, but I still need some help before I can pinch myself and jump for joy. Here's what they reveal:

Double *s beside all these: 23-25 ""-"; 31 "++"; 34 "-"; 39 "+"; 41 "+"; 83-93 "+"; 66 has no stars, but a "+".

Please tell me I can interpret this as positive.

I'm calling an LLMD tomorrow.

Thanks for all of your help.

Patti

Hi Patti!

You have a TON of positive, specific bands. That's what I would call 'way positive.'

This is a CDC positive result.

Get an LLMD, for sure.

It always amazes me when ducks don't know how to read these. Fascinating.

Good luck!

Michelle

Ditto what Michelle said.

starred bands are BB specific, the only way that you can be positive with these bands is with exposure to Bb.

Make an appt w/ a LLMD asap.

Yup!! Especially bands 39 and the 83-93.

Just wondering....Do you think you were bitten in Utah?

Patti, maybe you should find a doc that can read a Western blot lab result? Or maybe this doc should call the lab doc expert and this lab person could explain to your doc, how to read a Western Blot.

Good luck.

Pam

Awesome!!!

Thanks so much for your replies. I can now feel good about my test results.

It's been 8 long years trying to get a diagnosis for my mystery disease. I was first sick in July, 2000. I believe I was exposed, bitten, etc., in CA, where I lived most of my life before moving to Utah in 2003.

I'm calling the LLMD I was referred to in CA asap.

I'll keep in touch. I can't thank all of you on this board enough for all of your support and info!
