Have a weird question. Does anyone know how to reschedule or postpone a Herx reaction?

Even before I got diagnosed I was having periodic fatigue episodes which we've now recognized as Herxing. These usually occured about once a month plus or minus a week (doesn't involve hormnes - I'm male). I've been on antibiotics
for Lyme since January and my herxing (intense fatigue episodes) went from about 28-31 days from start to start to 18. Also they are now more intense.

I just got over one that started on Wednesday. The next one could theoretically start around the 23rd, if it follows this 18 day timing. This inconveniently coincides with a week in which I am supposed to be out in the field with a fellow scientist. So I am looking for ways to delay the onset of the next one by at least a week.

If anyone has any suggestions - I would greatly appreciate them!

Thanks!
Casey

This is not medical advice and I'm not a doctor, but *I* would stop the meds at least one day before the day I needed to work.

Then I wouldn't take anymore until my job was over.

But then, I'm weird! [Big Grin]

I think you are confusing the increased symptoms from the bacteria's life cycle with a herx. A herx is caused by antibiotics or other treatment killing the Lyme bacteria.

If you have symptoms every 18-21 days no matter whether you are on treatment or not, then that is not a herx. That is the life cycle.

If it's actually a herx, you might want to try Burbur, from nutramedix. It's an herb used as part of the Cowden protocol, but it can be used seperately. It detoxes and can help reduce herx symptoms.

Aniek is right....If your cycle is pretty well "set" by your body, stopping the meds might not work........

But that's what I would do... I would give it a try..... Who knows...it might work?

OR...I would stop the meds one week from now for a few days. That may reset the cycle.
