Hi all - I was started on Bactrim DS (2 per day) last week in addition to Zithromax. For those who have taken these 2 drugs, did you take them at the same time? Or is it best to always separate antibiotics from each other?

It is such a pain to space out all the meds and supplements, probiotics through the day. Seems I am always watching for the next time to take something or eat something so I can take something or not eat so that I can take something! Sigh!

I have a call into the LLMD, but just wondering your experiences.

Thanks
Robin

sorry, I don't have the answer for you. I was wondering though what you are taking this combo for- bart?

I am currently on zith/mepron and going to ask my llmd to possibly add bactrim (for babs/and bart).

I know what you mean about spacing things out. It gets crazy!

We added the Bactrim to hit Bart and I don't think the Zith alone is cutting it.

I'm also on bicillin LA - so 3 antibiotics right now.

My LLMD office told me not to take them together. Sigh. Perhaps I would not have liked to take them at the same time anyway.

Oh, my - a timer for the meds! I feel so old! [Smile]

I am on the same regimen. The zith is supposed to be on an empty stomach, so I take it first thing, Bactrim with breakfast and dinner. Tasty!
