Hi everyone! [hi]

Wondering about IV rocephin dosing. Don't the guidelines say 2 gram rocephin twice a day IV 4 days a week. What if you can't tolerate that dose.

Anyone else take 2 gram and then have to drop to 1 gram. Did you ever work back up to 2 grams? Does it make a difference if it's CNS lyme?

What side effects did you have that kept you from doing the 2 grams? Is total body weight a factor? What about labs?

My daughter had issues with hydration and nutrition before, but is doing better now. Plus all the other meds she was taking have side effects also....

The llmd is letting my daughter have a say in the dosing now. Just looking for input from those of you that have been there and done that!

Thanks, MommaK [Wink]

I HAVE BEEN ON THE ROCEPHIN 2 GRAM DRIP NOW FOR 2.5 MONTHS NOW!!!!!! I HAVNT HAD ANY SIDE EFFECTS...THANK GOODNESS! I DO STILL TAKE DOXY AND ACTIGALL (TO PREVENT GALL STONES FROM THE ROCPHIN) I HAVE GOTTEN ALOT BETTER FROM THE IV..I TOOK ALOT OF ORAL MEDICATION FOR ABOUT 7 MONTHS AND THEN DECIDED TO DO THE IV. IF YOUR DAUGHTER IS UNDER 18 THEN THEY WILL PROB. DO THE 1GRAM BECAUSE THEY WONT SIT WITH THE IV POLE, THEY WILL JUST HOOK UP AND THEN THEY CAN INJECT IT AND THATS THAT....WITH TH E2GRAM YOU HAVE TO INFUSE OVER 30 MIN!!!!! I WOULD RECCOMEND DOING THE IV....I AM STILL SUFFERING FROM ALOT OF GERD AND ACID REFLUX FROM ALL THE ORAL MEDS, SO I WOULD DEF. SUGGEST DOING THE IV.....
