Hi-
Been off ABX almost 2 years now- Lyme symptom free but now I have been having heart palpitations. Like I can feel my heart in my throat feel like it stops and then force out a beat like my heart is really trying. Every now and then but usually in the early evening and through bedtime.

Here is what I know:
1) I have been battling yeast.
2) I have been doing a colon cleanse
3) I had the same heart palps when I tried Oil of Oregano for my yeast and it went away when I stopped Oil of Oregano
4) I take a packet of Ester C (high vit. C content) in my water bottle in the A.M.daily
5) I have been dieting and feel symptoms of low magnesium (upper shoulder aches).
Any ideas what the palps could be from?
THANKS!
Julie

Hopefully you are staying away from foods containing Aspartame (Nutrasweet). Google "aspartame palpitation" and you will see what I mean!

With dieting and colon cleanse, maybe your electrolytes are a little off.

Just a thought......I would at least call your MD and let someone know.

Hope you feel better!

Thanks to both of you - no aspartame - I figured that out I when I had Lyme.

I think it might be the high Vitamin C dosage I take each morning - I stopped taking it today. I am just trying to eliminate everything to figure out what it is. I stopped my colon cleanse too. It's so frustrating guessing!

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Julie

Drink low salt V8 juice and eat bananas which are high in potassium. Take magnesium glycinate or magnesium maleate.

See if they don't help. I think you may be a little low on the above with dieting, colon clense, etc. Are you taking a multivitamin, too?

I am bad at taking my multivitamin but I will be better. Thanks for the advice on bananas and V8.

If low mag and candida has caused this issue before, I would address both of those.

Dieting is stressful to your body, I would slow it down .... stress is a trigger for the Lyme to become active again. You are showing signs that your body does not like what it's going through.

If you address the mag., candida, and slowing down on the diet, then I would call the LLMD. I was weaning off meds and doing fine. Air hunger came back within 6 weeks, and I was still on some babs meds.

So, my LLMD started me back on Malarone, Art, and enula. I was still on Lariam.

After only six weeks off some of the meds, I have been herxing off and on for the past month! And the only symptom I was having at all was air hunger ... now I'm reduced to lying around all day!

The moral is, don't ignore symptoms.
