GI issues have always been one of my worst symptoms since tick exposure, and continue to haunt me.

I have not yet been DX with co-infections, however I'm starting to believe I may have Bart.

My question for anyone who has, or is currently being treated for Bart, did you have GI symptoms??

Short answer: absolutely!

Longer answer my dd was bedridden 5 years and her worst symptoms were painful GI issues. She had high Bart titres when we finally tested her for it. After 3 months of levaquin for Bart, (that was her only abx at the time) she no longer needed immodium and the tincture of opium that she'd been taking for all those years, and her bart titres were down to almost nothing.

It wasn't the end of her needing abx, or treatment for other coinfections and lyme but it was an amazing turn around.

Hope this helps.

My GI symptoms were due to bart and parasites.

Here's an article about BLO's. http://www.healthcentersofamerica.com/information.cfm?id=140

No, I never tested positive for bart.

I was put on Cipro for a gut infection and many of my symptoms went away, so I was clinically diagnosed with bart and put on Levaquin since Cipro doesn't treat Lyme/babs.

Absolutely!! But I would also think candida and parasites.

If you've been on antibiotics, you could've also developed leaky gut, which I think we all end up with (because abx kills off all the good flora in your DI tract).

There's an amazing product out by New Chapter called

SuperCritical Omega 7

Made from sea buckthorn - it rebuilds the lining of the GI tract and mucous membranes.

You can get it online from Vitamin Shoppe or any number of places.

http://www.newchapter.com/products/sc-omega-7

They often stock it in the store (although most clerks don't know they have it or even what it is).

Best $20 you'll ever spend to get your stomach back to normal. Take 2 a day for 3 days and see if you don't feel the difference.

Just sharing what helped me. Hope it helps you!

lymeinhell,
thanks for the information. hopefully it will help my stomach.

I don't believe ABX are the only reason for my achy gut though, my GI symptoms started long before I started them. thank you

Cheez,

My daughter had stomach problems, specifically pain around the naval, acid burps and vomiting.

Blood was normal. Went to ped GI who took biopsies of stomach and upper GI. He tested for all TBD's. Bart was the only positive, not lyme. She went on doxy, a quinolone, zithromax and I think bactrim for her existing lyme and new Bart.

Keep Bart to the forefront, it's an insidious *(&*(&(*&)*&)(
