i am on zith/mepron now for babesia and seeing my llmd today.

i may have to change to biaxin due to ear symptoms (i'll see what she says about it), was thinking of asking her to add bactrim either way.

anyone else using this combo for babesia?

thanks!

I use Zithromax and Mepron.
I have added Bactrim to my combo because of Bartonella that I also have. Addition of Bactrim has trully removed my Bartonella symptoms such as stiffness and painfull feet in the morning or some 'burning' skin.

If you don't have Bartonella I don't know if Bactrim is needed in your case.

I should add that I took Levaquin for a month against Bartonella and there was some help with Bartonella symptoms but Bactrim seemed to help better.

I kinda wonder why Bactrim is not used more often against Bartonella.

that's the thing- i am not sure if i have bartonella. i do have the burning skin, lots of tingling, vibrations- but these could also be lyme i think, so it is hard to tell.

i think i recently heard that bactrim also has an effect on babs too, which i think i have due to nightsweats (although these too could be bart i think).

thanks a lot for your response!

I took bactrim DS with malarone/zith combo.

I felt that it helped a lot....unfortunately did not get rid of babesia. [shake]

Hugs,

Geneal

This is a great combo for babs and bart.

I fought babs for years, and finally got a negative titer after I added bactrim.

Good luck and drink lots of water.
