I am having some issues figuring out what to eat. I think I am having blood sugar issues that are making me irritable.

I have a lot of nausea so lately i don't feel like eating much but when I do want to eat I don't know what to eat.

What do people with a lot of fatigue eat on the candida diet? The recipes are very complex.

What are the problems you are having with this diet? Do you get low blood sugar/irritability?

The other thing is I've vomited so much in the last few months on IV treatment I am kind of turned off some foods but hopefully I will get over that soon (the vomiting and all).

Is everyone losing a lot of weight on the candida diet? I don't know if it's the diet or the vomiting but I have lost weight too quickly.

Also anyone have digestion/absorption problems?

Basically I just need any advice about the candida diet and easy snack ideas. I cannot eat anything too hard or crunchy because of my jaw problems (TMJ).

thanks for any feedback.

I have to admit, a lot of the easy snack ideas are crunchy (like nuts).

But how about plain, whole milk yogurt. It naturally has sugar because all milk does, but the probiotics in it should cancel that out. But don't get any with sugar added. I recommend Fage, which is a Greek yogurt. Other good brands are Brown Cow and Stoneyfield Farms.

For extra calories, add some all natural peanut butter or almond butter to the yogurt.

Also, eggs are an easy snack. You can hardboil eggs and keep them around, or scramble them easily

You can get all natural, all beef hot dogs or soy dogs that take just a few minutes to prepare.

If you are having blood sugar drops on the diet, then you are not eating enough. The diet should actually stabilize your blood sugar because you are cutting out the sugar so you know longer have peaks and drops.

What funny Aniek is that the Fage yogurt makes my feet burn terrible and makes me fall aspeep!

Go figure. I absolutelly love the taste though. I really wish I could enjoy it more.

Lymeherx - is it possible you are allergic to dairy? If not, maybe you are actually having a herx from the bacteria in it?

The Fage yogurt is how I discovered I can make myself eat brocolli. I dip the brocolli in the yogurt.

You are having some serious GI issues. More serious than we can help you with.

One person's healthy diet is another person's poison. For instance, I have a food sensitivity to egg whites, soy protein and milk protein.

Once I cut those from my diet, my joint pain and inflammation reduced to zero. If I eat them, my joints swell and damage to joints occur.

My doctor is highly trained in nutrition and gut issues. He is an MD with additional CAM training.

www.acam.org lists physicians by area. They are trained in such matters.

A bloodtest revealed my food sensitivities. Understand you can develop food sensitivities at any time and to the foods you eat most often.

Once I knew what foods to avoid, my diet became much easier.

Good luck and good healing!

thanks for replying people.

i cut out yogurt because i think it was contributing to my nausea. but my vsl probiotic is in a lactose base. i don't know. yeah i would think that the candida diet would improve blood sugar issues. i need to start checking my blood sugar when i get these anxious agitated feelings and when i feel woozy/drugged.

maybe i should do a fast and see how i feel? i haven't had blood tests for food allergies. my md said just do an elimination diet. i stopped a few foods for months and just added one back in not because i want to eat it really but because i am low on energy and diet ideas. anyhow i really don't know what to think. my stomach is trashed. i definitely have absorption issues. it is not normal to vomit u food you ate 13 hours ago. one of my mds suggested the food is rotting in my stomach and that is making me puke.

i take betaine HCL and digestive enzymes.

i am turned off eating to tell you the truth. i've thrown up so much since the summer.

my progesterone level is too high - not sure if that could be worsening my nausea. i had vomiting with low progesterone too. i NEVER used to gag/puke like this before lyme and babs treatment.

hoping the parasite testing shows something helpful. if it comes back negative hopefully that rules out one more thing. (how accurate are parasite tests i wonder? i am skeptical of testing since my yeast test came back neg. but i have yeast. my uti tests all came back neg. but my broth cultures came back positive)

i used to just trust test but i've gotten so many conflicting results i don't know what to think....but i guess that is a digression.

i'll check out that link posted in the thread thanks.

Read labels and avoid sugar BIGTIME. Personally, I cannot get away with eating yogurt, no matter how much probiotic it contains.

Eat green vegetables and protein and you'll have no blood sugar or yeast problems. Well, the yeast could be an issue since you're on abx, but it will be minimal.

Sample meals:

1. grilled or baked chicken breast
green beans

2. roast beef
broccoli

3. fish
asparagus

Avocado is a good fast, easy snack. I recommend slicing it in half and then squeezing 1/2 a lemon into it. Eat the avocado with a spoon and lemon juice.

I also recommend blue corn chips with black beans spread on them and a little bit of hard cheddar cheese melted in the toaster oven. It takes 5 minutes, makes no dishes and it's candida ok.

I always keep a little homemade egg salad on hand (we have chickens). I boil the eggs for 10 minutes, peel and squish with a fork--add a little mayo.

How about rice cakes? They are a good candida alternative in place of bread, I put on tuna fish, etc.

Also, Keep a food diary so you can get a hold on what bothers you. The benefits of this cannot be overlooked. I know it takes energy but even two weeks can help you learn some patters. Keep a notebook right in your kitchen and write as you go. It gets easier the more you do it.

Hi~ I am on a strict candida diet also and what I do is buy those bagged salads when the fatigue is at its worst. I cut up cukes, broccoli and chicken and pour it all into those little plastic containers by Ziplock or Rubbermaid.

I make about 5 at a time so I have something to grab. Not much prep time to it either.

I also roast green beans, okra, spinach, etc. and keep them in the fridge for a quick grab and heat up. Same thing with chicken.

I wouldn't use mayo or cheddar as they are definitely not approved for candida. They are pretty bad triggers. [tsk]
