Hi everyone,
I am upset, I have been on Mepron and Azithromycin for 6 days and nothing is really happening, NO herx at all. and I find the EMF is
worse, is was a tiny bit better before from clindamycin and quinine, but the LLMD thinks the MEPRON is better, but I dont think this is the case for me.
I had been on Azithromycin for about 40 days, then added in the Mepron, at 1 tsp twice a day and the 500mgs of Azithromycin and I am not getting better from this Mepron.
I had a herx from Quinine and Clindamycin on the 4th day or so, now, this Mepron is not helping me.
What about others? does this mean that it is not going to help me? maybe i need the Quinine and Clindamycin for longer.
I am sick from the Computer because of Babesia, and this Mepron has not helped the EMF, the Quinine and Clindmycin helped me but I think I just needed longer, but side effects from Quinine bad, but it made me better, much better by now, compared to this MEPRON.
I am seeing a new LLMD, and I tested positive for Babesia Duncani and postive for Babesia from the FISH test at IGENEX. He said MEPRON and Azithromycin,
I am SO sick from the computer, and I should be better from it, this is the EMF, and it got better from the Clindamycin and quinine.
I am ALL over the place my brain,
How long should the Mepron take for me to notice something? I am sicker from the computer now,, and I was not this sick before the MEPRON.
What a disappointment.
I forgot to ask the LLMD what i should expect, I gathered it may be like the Clindmycin and quinine, herx wise.

I did not herx until day 24 on Mepron, so you still may have the chance to feel horrible from it. Hang in there.
The feeling worse from EMF may actually be a herx of sorts ... but the big one may come further into treatment.

Hi Trish.
I felt similarly.
Then I added artemisinin.
Holy cats, did all he11 break loose.
I had babesia WA-1.
My LLMD had me doing just like you -- mepron + Zith for 10 days by itself, then add art, at 100mg three days a day.
I was SO GOOD TO GO, until I added the art.
It packs the final punch, let me tell you!!
I'm pretty sure studies show that it greatly increases the killing power of mepron/zith.
Good luck!!

I started Mepron 3 days ago and have not herxed off of it. Actually I feel better; less brain fog and more energy. hmmmm wonder how long its gonna last though.
Than again, when I first started low dose abx in september (400 mg ceftin twice a day) I DID NOT herx either. I felt immediate relief that lasted for 2 months. I was working full time and going out partying with friends on the weekends. Than I went down hill fast. Probably because I never treated for babesia. So I guess well see what happens now that I am.
Everyone can herx differently, so just because you don't feel worse or better doesnt mean that the medicine isnt working.

I have been on Artemesia for about 2 months. I added Zith and Mepron 26 days ago and I have really started hurting over the last 5 days or so. How long do these babesia herxes last? Can you control the herxes by taking breaks in treatment?

Stick with it. The doses may need to be increased to 3-4 doses Mepron/day and 1,200 mg Zithromax plus add artemeisia. Takes time to herx guys and gals, hang in there and keep at it.

It can take a couple of weeks for the Mepron to have steady blood levels in the beginning. SO hang in there they will come. Took me over a month before the herxes came.

thanks everyone,
I am concerned that Mepron is decreasing the Azithromycin, as this is what I feel may or could be happening.
I read on Drugdigest.org that this is a concern, so why increase the Azithromycin, why not switch to Biaxin and Mepron, this does not happen with this combo.
I think that this needs to be addressed, the decrease in Azithromycin from Mepron, and it should be brought up with a LLMD,
Why would it be listed as a concern on this site, drugdigest.org.
WE are taking these drugs, we are the ones that are affected, and this is a concern, as I have read it on here, others voicing their concern about this interaction.
IS this why we need Mepron so long? it is a very expensive drug,
I want to get to the bottom of this, I called Mepron company and they did not have it documented but they did say all things are not documented, that is why the DR must be aware of changes.
I feel like I am worse, and it is not a herx, like my system is down, and I have missed some anitbiotics for a day or so.
I think this is happening, I have to keep a watch on it.
I am not herxing, I am feeling like I am backsliding, like I missed some doses of azithromycin.
