For those who are supplementing Magnesium in their diet, and who also suffer from chronic muscle twitches, about how long was it before you began seeing reduced muscle twitches? Or have you seen a reduction?

I know Rome wasn't built in a day, and I've only been on Magnesium for about 4 days, but I was just curious how long it took many of you to see results.

You may need b complex and b12 and if your intrinsic factor is low or shot. You will need b12 injections they have helped me tremdously.

I've been on magnesium for 8 months and I'm not certain that it's made much impact on reducing twtiches....being on Doxycycline, however, makes a HUGE difference...knocking back all my neuro symptom within a matter of 3 or 4 weeks. Sadly, the doxy hasn't "cured" me....as I relapse within weeks of going off it. So, I continue on with both magnesium and doxy.

Because of prior "gut" issues, I have trouble tolerating the oral magnesium preparations I have tried. When I started using IM magnesium sulfate, the twitches and muscle cramps improved dramatically. These days I take one gram once a week with an ml. of 1% lidocaine added. Piece of cake!

Good question.

My Mg intake made a difference within a few weeks. I've kept it up and the twitching is pretty minimal. I have just recently (yesterday) halted all suppliments (just on ABX) to see where i stand with any symptoms. If you PM me in 2 weeks, I'll update you on the twitching.

Magnesium citrate (best absorbed) helped my muscle twitches, etc., in about a month.

I had body wide muscle twitching for over one year. A combination of antibiotics and a magnesium supplement helped me get completely rid of them.

I drink a magnesium supplement every night. It's called Peter Gilham's Natural Calm. It can be found on line or in most Health food stores.

Not sure if it was this or the antibiotics or both.

The body wide twitching drove me mad, never thought it would go away.
