Way back in 1979, before the LD breakout in CT, I came down with what they thought was tick fever. However, the infirmary dr. changed his mind and finally dx me with "some form of rickettsial infection." I was treated with tetracycline and got better after about a week.

Since then, if I "overdo" I suffer from fatigue, joint and muscle pain and inflammation, brain fog, etc. This lasts anywhere from a few days to months.

I've been treated for fibromyalgia and CFS. I've also had elevated Epstein Barr titers. Should my doctor also be looking at Lyme disease?

Yes! Get a Western Blot done from a specialty lab, i.e. Igenex, Fry, Centeral Florida Labs.

Good Luck,

Yes.... is the short answer. The long answer is find an LLMD that uses Igenex to test and will diagnose on clinical symptoms.

Your current doc most likely has limited knowledge on Lyme. Nothing personal about tyour doc. There are lots of good docs out there that do not know the true nature of Lyme.

Go to the newbie links and read , read, read. Try this for starters:
