Today was a great day for my husband and I....

This Friday he was schelduled to go for his

THIRD spinal tap... For the past week we have

been on Lymnet asking for opinions about what

we should do. We have been SOOOOOO fed up with

the run around. We called his WC field nurse

and told her we REFUSE to go for the THIRD tap!

We told her that i already have 2 positive

Western Blot tests and 1 Postive Spinal Tap!

We also explained to her that we will be finding

another doctor.... My husband needs treatment I

see him getting worse every week. Thanks to all

of you he has the confidence to fight for his

rights. We are hoping to get in to see DR. F in

West Caldwell, NJ ASAP... so until then...

Thanks to all of you!

Yeah!!!! Great news for your husband and you.

When you are so sick it is so hard to be aggressive about getting treated.

Glad your husband has renewed hope and spirit.

We are always here to give you more. [Smile]

Hugs,

Geneal

Good for you! When they don't know what to do, all they can think to do is test, test, test.

Read up on all you can, make notes, create a binder of lab results, and take the bull by the horns.

We find we have to drive our own care with this disease.

Tell your husband to hang in there, and don't forget to take care of yourself.

Wow! Good for you both. A positive test is a positive test...why would they need anything else?!

You're on the road to finding help [Smile]

K&R

You have positive tests of serum and spinal fluid and they won't treat, that sounds like malpractice. What is a WC field nurse? Why won't they help him?

I thought with the lab results and nuerological involvement, four weeks abx is the standard of care for the ID ducks.

Eventually I convinced my PCP to put me on doxy. He was open minded enough after wittnessing the run around the specialists put me through. And the dramatic improvement further confirmed the diagnosis. month 1 - 300 mg per day, month 2 400 mg a day, month 3 - 4 - 500 mg/day.

The thought of multiple spinal taps is horrifying, good move denying.

Good luck.

Mike
