Dear Fellow LymeNet Members,
I am very worried about my situation. I just got over a severe migraine that lasted 4 days! Nothing numbed the pain, and it was so bad I thought I was going to have to go to the ER. My neck was even stiff. My wisdom teeth seem to be causing this. I know cavitations are a concern, and would appreciate any advice you can provide. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Jen

Maj you need to get those dam things out of there...I waited till I was in my 50's and was just harboring infection, plus it ruined one of my 12 year molars.

A dental Xray can tell which ones are infected underneath and you can just have 2 at a time out like I did.

Also some amoxicillin can get the infection down to a manageable level so you can get them pulled. The dentists around here aren't RXing clindamycin for that anymore because it too often causes a form of colitis...If Condor shows up listen to her about this too.

Those wisdom teeth can cause all kinds of joint aches and swelling, TMJ pain, headaches, and no telling what else.

Get them things out of there ASAP....I had it done in the oral surgeon's office two at a time and it wasn't bad at all except I had to eat soup for a couple of days.(Corona is a form of soup BTW).

Jen,

I had my wisdom teeth taken out during the period of time I was at my worst and looking for a diagnosis.

Everything went smooth except I got dry socket, but that isn't a huge deal it just hurts. I went back to the surgeon's office and he put a mixture (that basically tasted like the spices in chai) over the sockets and it made the pain go away.

The pain from migraines weakens your immune system. Plus, a bad impaction could lead to an infection.

wisdom teeth and lyme.

first preop clydamycin 150mg 3 days before 7 days after.
second iv sedation should be ok.
lidocaine with epinephrine is necessary due to intensity of pain, but you will be knocked out.
nitrous oxide not a problem even if asthmatic.

removal should be straight foward, and depending on your age, younger better, the bone will fill in.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE ORAL SURGEON CURETTE
THE SITE COMPLETELY TO REMOVE ALL REMNANTS OF THE PRIMORDIAL SAC.
THIS SAC HAS STEM CELLS IN IT THAT CAN ,IN LATER LIFE CHANGE TO CANCER CELLS, BUT IS VERY VERY RARE.

LONG TIME AGO WE USED TO PUT IN DISPOSABLE TETRACYCLINE INTO THE CAVITY TO PREVENT INFECTION AND SEEMED TO WORK WELL.

THE IMPORTANT THING IS TOTAL REMOVAL OF SAC AND SCAPING OF TISSUE TILL BONE IS FELT.

ANY GOOD ORAL SURGEON SHOULD BE DOING THIS ANYWAY.

ANY MORE INFO CAN BE SEARCHED UNDER MY NAME \
I HAVE POSTED THIS MANY TIMES ALSO UNDER DOCDAVE.
\pm me for any further questions
