This is strange. But I'm getting worried.

Okay, not sure what this is, but every once in a while I'll get cyst-like bumps around my ears (they are completely always under the skin). They seem to come and go, sometimes taking a few weeks before clearing up. I was just getting over one in front of my ear, when this other one below my ear, right where my lymph node is, popped up. It's firm and round and I know it's not my lymph node because I know what that feels like.

It's kind of tender. I've had it for about a week. It seems to be getting smaller. Now, I've also noticed that it kind of feels like what a wart feels like -- like it has mush at the top of it, so it feels like there's liquid in it. I could be totally wrong.

Anyone else get these cyst-like things around their ear? I know someone else who does.

But does anyone know what these are???

Here's a couple pictures of it.

I don't have a cyst, but I do have a rash in about the same place. At one time, it did feel like a larger bump that looked very similar to yours, but mine itched. It wasn't tender.

I have this since years - coming - going. Sometimes, I have a lot of them, sometimes I have none. Sometimes they itch a bit. I get them also on my upper back.

The dermaduck I asked said ACNE! This is NOT acne, I'm pretty sure.

I don't know what it is, though. I have confirmed Lyme, Bartonella and Ehrlichia.

Had something like that on front of neck. Asked dr. about it and said "you're reacting to something".

I don't get these around my ears, but I do get something like that usually on my chin. It's like a boil. Google "boil pictures" stuff like that comes up.

I don't know what causes them, but I do get them on my chin and they sometimes take almost a month to clear up. They are very tender to the touch.

Hi distrubed,

Have you considered having a biopsy of this leasion evaluated by Igenex ..maybe a PCR test for Lyme and coinfections?

The least someone could do is to aspirate the contents, do a smear, and look at the types of cells....and stain the smear with a silver stain for Borrelia. You'd have to be specific and ask for a silver stain so they'll know to look for Borrelia.

You might want to call Igenex to see what they have to offer, then go from there.

Your physician could culture the organism and do a sensitivity test on the contents.

It may be bartonella or tularemia.

Do they rupture, drain & eventually heal?
Do they occur in the same place?
Do they occur in other places?
Is there a pattern to their appearance (monthly??)
How long until they resolve?

Does it feel like a mole with a pimple in it, or a pimple on a mole? My husband has lesions like that. They don't pop like you could pop a pimple. My LLMD said it might be Morgellon's.

Wow! I forgot about those. They do go away.
I used to have two behind my left ear.

They are uncomfortable to have and bigger than a pimple for sure. Mine were kinda squishy. One was bigger than the other.

Totally glad they are gone. Keep up your medicine herbs and vitamins. Treatment works slowly but surely.

hsh --

Do they rupture, drain & eventually heal? No, they just seem to shrink and then clear up.

Do they occur in the same place? Yes, mine seem to happen around my ears. Not the EXACT same place but always around the ear-area.

Is there a pattern to their appearance (monthly??) I have not noticed a pattern.

How long until they resolve? Sometimes a week or longer. The one I had before this one took about three weeks to resolve.

It WOULD be a good idea to have it biopsied to see if it's lyme or co's. Definitely. I will have to think about having that done.

I get those.

They have minds of their own!

Ugly as sin too, especially when on my face.

Painful to the touch.

Itchy.

And if they do rupture from unconscious itching, it get's uglier and can leave a black mark on my face.

Usually blood drains with some pus, it they rupture.

I believe it is a pretty nasty case of cystic acne of the worst kind....

And I do believe it is related somehow to the infectious process overall.

I am starting to get the idea that since I've been very inactive for a couple years, bedridden for about one,

That if I sweat more either in sauna, detox bath, or with some exercise,

Perhaps it will help get the blood and fluids moving in my body again and will help this,

Which usually shows up in cyclic spurts, just like the rest of the lyme symptoms.

I just had my LLMD look at something simmilar yesterday on my back, and on my ear. They are sebaceous cysts. Mine have never drained either. Minocycline can make them go down, also keflex.

PS!

I have had a few cysts removed, they were not painful to the touch.

I could feel them move under my skin if I put my finger on to one side.

I don't know if they were sebacious.

I have a few remaining cysts very deep under my skin, they are different from the cysts that are painful to the touch.

My LLMD did say the cysts are my problem, but flagyl is not my friend!
