Just wondering what others experiences are.

Yes, you caught me....I'm looking for that crystal ball that will tell me exactly when I'll herx, start date and end date, with a daily severity rating on a scale from 1 to 10.

Anyone got that crystal ball?

[confused]

Hi Tracy,

I'm one of those rare ones who herxed every 28 days on both IV Rocephen followed by LA Bicillin shots.

This is not due to menstrual periods as I am past menopause!

I marked my calendar by it and planned what I needed to do around that.

But that's me.

Br. Burrascano's online information is that herxes can be long and intense. Yes, I'll confirm that. Mine lasted about 6 1/2 weeks the first time and got progressively less in the number of weeks and later in the intensity.

Please don't get scared off. I got LA Bicillin shots for ten months and these helped me!

6 months of IV Rocephen plus 10 months of LA Bicillin plus biaxin all the way through and flagyl on weekends for about 7 months has me at 85% better overall and 90% better with fatigue.

I start Mepron real soon.

That's great! I'm happy for you. [spinning smile]

LA Bicillin doesn't get processed in the GI (which gets overworked with so many orals) and it's called a natural antibiotic.

You should start herxing at about 17 hundred hours. It will last exactly 2.65 days which is ....... let's see that's 24hrs. + 24 hrs. + .6/24 = exactly about Wednesday just before Ellen is on TV ....... she can make you laugh even during a herx.

Ok, ok ............ here's the real answer. For me I herx anywhere from 4 to seven hours post injection. It lasts 2 to 4 days (sorry). I get reallllly bad headaches and muscle pain. Laying down in a dark, quiet place is all I can do sometimes.

Follow the arrow for the good news >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I get a few days between shots in which I feel some improvement. I have even had a few days of very few symptoms. I am hoping this trend continues to build with more good days. The herxes have got to let up ........ don't they?

Anyway, I am encouraged and will continue with this to see if I can reacover to a reater degree.

Hey Brian,

We started almost at the same time! [woohoo]

I had my first shot on Friday. I have had NO herx yet at all, and today is Monday. [woohoo] How about you? Any signs of a herx?

I am hoping none is coming, like some people say!

My butt is sore but it's no biggie. I do have a large mass there at the shot site, about three to four inches long and and an inch wide. A small bruise is forming. I don't think it's any big deal, as I am always bruised from bumping into things anyway!

Let's hope this works! Good luck to you!

Justag,

Not that I've heard of. These are intramuscular shots in the butt.

I didn't herx that much on Bicillin since most of my sx seems to be caused by co-infections...

Robi,
Thanks for your hilarious answer..... [lol]

No PICC line, in fact part of the injection process is making sure you aren't hitting a vein, because it can be deadly to inject bicillin into a vein or artery.

Aloha~

When I first began the shots (mid-Feb 08)...I definantly herxed the next day!
This lasted for about 2 weeks and now no herx....

My butt/hip also hurts much much less the next day now......compared to at first- ouch!!!

as a herx I expierenced:
*severe FATIGUE!!
*'sick feeling'
*THROAT raspy , little sore, dry, horse
*SPACY- felt really really OFF!!!!!!!
*achy body
*crying, depresion and anxiety
*my dizziness has returned and stayed.... [Frown]

I'm wondering if I need to increase to 3 shots per week...will discuss in a few weeks with LLMD...

Good luck to you! I hope that HELP you heal!!!!

Much Love!
Fawne

Today I got this "out of nowhere" anxiety and heart palps that has lasted all evening and night....has anyone experienced that from bicillin? I have never had this before with any herx but can't think of any reason I should be anxious.

I should also say that I am NOT one to look for symptoms and attribute them to Lyme or the meds; I probably miss most of what is actually happening. Something has to pretty much hit me over the head for me to notice it or make a connection. [bonk]

Tracy9,

Anxiety? Can't say for sure, but LA Bicillin is VERY good for head stuff. The herxes are intense.

You have heart palpitations? I'd call my LLMD, just to be on the safe side.

Given what you wrote, the anxiety and heart palps must be bad. [group hug]

I got Lyme stress. I guess that's anxiety. It was harder to use my brain to think and my severe head pain got worse, of course.

I like herxes because I know when I'm done herxing I'll be better.

Suggestion: you might keep track of herxes and see if there is a pattern to them.

Maybe that will tell you when the next one will come and you can try to work around that as far as getting chores done, etc.

But then ... some don't have regular herxes.
