i was shocked to learn that my floaters were part of EARLY diabetes retinopathy; losing my vision!
so glad you went to an eye dr. OR was it aN EYE SPECIALIST?

He has new equiment that takes pics of the inside/backs of your eye and they automatically download into his computer software...very interesting stuff
Had that down twice and pictures of my cornea, etc..
Had full eye exam 3 times + slit Lamp
Everything checked out fine, but the floaters and blurry vision continues
nothing has helped it and it drives me nuts!

My eye dr. checked my eyes to ensure that I didn't have a retinol tear, but thankfully found nothing.

Yep...my floaters are crazy. My left eye I can barely see through them some days too. I also had a retinal tear in my right which was fixed thankfully. Mine started Oct 2006 with 2 floaters. Since treatment they have gotten worse.
Its all from Uveitis and vitritus that has been ongoing since that time. Been on and off steroid drops but they stopped working. I am going on IV Ricephin in a couple of weeks so I hope that kills the nasty buggers.
Can't go on like this. My eye doc is just a bloody spectator and it drives me mental.

Yeah kept the inflammation at a safe level for a while. Oral steroids for 5 days a month ago at a low dose 30 mg made everything worse. Not trying that again...I was fairly happy to try it whilst having proper antibiotic cover at the time. I am herxing right now so everything is worse.

Me too, an obscene amount of floaters. One of my last remaining symptoms, but lyme treatment hasn't helped. I have to wonder if it is bacterial or fungal.
I've read on this forum that antibiotic eye ointment has helped some people. I believe one that I read about was the Terramycin Ointment from the feed store.
I don't know what is available in eye drops or ointments from the pharmacy, either antibacterial or antifungal. I haven't been down that road yet.
I did an experiment for a month with colloidal silver drops in one eye, and that eye improved considerably. Then I put the project on the back burner because it was annoying.
Silver kills both bacteria and fungus, so I can't say for sure what my floaters are made of.
I'm guessing they are fungal though, because they got worse, not better with lyme treatment.
Floater treatment is in my near future. Time to be done with the fuzz between me and the rest of the world. I'll let you know what happens when I get back to it.

Bejoy, Fungal could be a good bet. I have thought this a few times. Anyone know if diflucan penetrates the eye? What treatment would the hospital give you for this?? Or does it depend on what strain it is etc?? Don't know much about it.

I read that floaters have been linked to candidiasis. Do you eat sugar & yeast?
I heard another theory is that floaters are linked to poor blood circulation. Anybody tried any alternative tx for floaters??

Not very much sugar or yeast in my diet this past year. Been very healthy on that end of things with treatment. But I know I have yeast problems. Infact I think I have had it for years and I am hoping when I get on Diflucan next week that Its a big player. I will keep you posted.

Floaters and blurred vision continue to plague me. So do visual afterimages. See my name!
I have noticed that these sx are tied directly to how tired I am feeling. I notice the floaters more when I'm herxing and when I'm very tired.
Otherwise, they have gotten a lot better. It's not that they go away, its that your brains starts to ignore them. I also think that when your eyes become tired, it is more difficult to focus the lens. That out of focus feeling can make floaters more noticable because you eyes are trying to see anything!
Rest easy.. Floaters do and will get better with time.

I've been able to successfully treat all eye symptoms - floaters, light sensitivity, eye muscle pain and blurred vision - by drinking mangosteen juice, an anti-inflammatory juice.
It worked immediately - within 24 hours, no more symptoms! And has continued as such for a year and a half now.
I drink a couple ounces daily of the Ultra mangosteen version, with 70 minerals added.
There's lots of mangosteen juice blends in healthfood stores and online. The strongest is Xango, sold multi-level.
If you try the juice, drink a lot of water with it and go slow - it can be powerful.
