Hi,
I am currently taking 875 mg of Augmentin 2 times per day for a bad sinus & ear infection that would not go away. Even had discharge/mucus coming out of my eyes!

I was diagnosed with Lyme this past Dec. and I believe I can trace it back 5 years. Did 1 month of doxy and then started the main herbs of the Buhner protocol.

I got this nasty infection 2 weeks ago, started on Amoxycillin 500 mg 3 times per day and it wasn't helping so they switched me to the Augmentin. I'm on day 6 of a 14 day prescription.

Sorry for the wordiness, just want to give a little background.

My question is could this amount of Augmentin cause a herx? I feel so tired all day, I can sleep 10 - 12 hours a night, then take a 2 hour nap during the day. I have zero energy and can barely pick up my daughters.

I also have a splitting headache that feels like a knife is cutting through my temples.

I was tired & had headaches from the lyme, but this is much more intense. I didn't have these effects from doxy.

I assume that since Augmentin is an antibiotic, it could be causing a herx reaction. I just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this and could help out at all.

I have stopped the herbs since being sick, per doctors orders.

Thank you very much in advance [Big Grin]

Yes, Augmentin could be hitting the Lyme. I hope your ears/sinuses feel better soon. [Smile]
