Hi

I am spending all of my time studying at the moment and have answered my own question which i had when i first found this board. Yes I am sure now that i do have LD. It explains so much, like the weight loss after infection, how ill I was, and several symptoms since that were unexplained on other boards I joined to find answers but only concentrating on certain symptoms.

It is only since I have found LD boards, that I have found people who sound as sick as i am. [Frown]

I have found out who the LLMD's in the UK are and today rang their secretaries. Only one was available ie Dr O in Cardiff. What I really need to know is, who is the best in the UK? You see I already was very sick when i got LD through mercury poisoning causing damage to my endocrine system. i had Pink's Disease aka mercury poisoning from teething powders when 6 months old and then i played with mercury when i was older. So I need extra special care in order to survive which i want to do - very much [Smile]

I have some savings which I am prepared to spend on recovering, and I can leave the UK for treatment if necessary. I am thinking of Germany or the US. Naturally Germany would be easiest and I have friends there to stay with. I guess that treatment is better there.

So I am asking about finding a doctor either in the UK (first choice) Germany or the US who is competent to treat me, without killing me knowing that it is highly unlikely that i can take abx or indeed any medications. I just started a Humaworm bowel cleanse and had to stop it due to ceasation of bile.

I am very sick now and my thyroid is on real trouble. I am on a very strict gluten free anti candida diet and will do anything to get healing.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Mati,

Do you mind me asking which part of the UK you live in. I know a couple of llmd's in the UK which i will pm you but just wondering where you are first, as they may be some distance from you.

I am from the UK but travel to the USA to see an ILADS Doctor, I did try the only 2 lyme doctors in the UK but their experience compared to the USA ILADS doctors was so limited, in fact i threw 1000's away away seeing them and it worked out far cheaper to fly to USA and get help and then consult via phone. My personal advice would be to seek initial help in the USA and have a supportive UK Lyme Doctor.

I was undiagnosed for 7 years and totally bed bound for 4 years, it was only after seeing a ILADS USA doc that my health is improving, Im way off being well but am up and around and at least have total confidence in my long term treatment protocol.

Thanks for that Rianna. Would you mind saying who you are seeing? I would certainly consider doing the same if I can find a doctor who can treat without abx. I suppose New York is the easiest to get too? I have decided not to go to Germany after advice. And you don't need a 6 month visa just for a quick visit.

Hi Rianna,

Do you just get your local NHS GP to prescribe abx on advice of your US lyme doctor?

I agree US llmd's are better.
