I have a terrible sore throat and chest as well as some pain in my neck and ears. I'm also very achy and feel feverish although I don't have a fever.

The soreness in my chest feels as if I've been coughing and it's raw but I haven't been coughing. But it's exactly that feeling you get when you have been coughing and your chest/throat gets raw from it.

Does anyone know if this can be a herx?

Oh yeah, I should mention I've been on Zithromax for 9 wks. and I have Mycoplasma.

My Lyme dx is clinical but I have had 2 positive Myco tests.

Hey Laura...I have the same thing! It comes in cycles just like all my other symptoms...but yeah, my chest gets really tight and it feels like I'm coming down with an upper respiratory infection. I cough and cough and cough and do have a little bit of phlegm (gross I know!) but not much. I don't know what's up with this...hopefully we can get more feedback.

laura and lauren,

YES, that's a herx; keep a symptoms list of when something starts/stops. no one suggested that to me when i started ... would have been nice to see progression/degression of things.

someone else more detailed will come along eventually. also, have you looked at my newbie package OR TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE ARCHIVE found on top in medical?

check his out ok! he's worked hard to put things out there for us to do our own research too during hours when no one is online! [group hug] [kiss]

lauren,

Thank you for replying. It makes me feel better to know someone can relate. I have this raw feeling in my chest/throat without coughing. Don't know what to make of that.

betty,

Thank you so much. Knowing it's a herx makes me better able to deal w/it so at least I can look at it as making progress. I will definitely check out Treepatrol's archives since I lost my Newbie Package AGAIN! I know I know Betty, I'm a lost cause. [shake]

I am not an expert, but I would say YES.

That has happened to me several times during treatment so far, in a cyclic pattern.

Keep an eye on it, of course.
