I am on i.v. meds with oral Septra/Zith for Lyme/Bart/Babs.
I've been on it for a while, almost a month, and suddenly my lymph nodes really swelled up. It seemed to happen almost instantaneously, one minute they were fine and then they started swelling up really fast to the point where it affects my swallowing.
I understand that Bart can cause swollen glands, but this is strange that it came on suddenly and I've never had this before, even when I've taken orals for bart in the past. I'm wondering about an allergic reaction. I can't reach anyone at the doc's office until Tuesday and don't know what to do about the next dose. I don't want to jeopardize my treatment by stopping until I can contact the doctor, but on the other hand an allergic reaction is nothing to mess with. Has anyone else had this happen? Could it be just a herx?

Do you have health insurance? A lot of health insurance companies have nurse lines that you can call to find out if something needs immediate medical attention.
They might be able to tell you if it's a possible allergic reaction to any of the medications you are on or if it's life threatening.

I had the same strange swollen lymph node thing happen at the end of
A two week babesia herx. Lymph nodes swollen everywhere...neck, groin, arm pits, etc.
I am to speak with my LLMD on Wednesday. That is one question I plan to ask.
You may want to call your LLMD to make sure everything is okay.
