I started Flagyl today. My dose starts with 1/4 of one 250 mg pill/one time a day. I will work up to 1 250 mg pill/3 times per day.

It appears on the protocol that later we may even work up to 3 500 mg pills/day.

I am nervous about the effects that I have read. However, my LLMD insists that this is the right medication for now.

What is a typical dose? I'm not a big person...I weigh in the 120s

Anyone NOT have bad effects?

This dosing is inline with what I'm on.

I worked my way up to a maximum of 1500 mg / day.
(500 mg pill 3x per day)

I'm not staying on this dose longer than 10 days however. It's not an easy drug to deal with. But most people who can tolerate it, make big progress with it.

I agree with the very low dose to ramp up. Some people herx very badly on it. We don't want to hit you hard with a large dose and make you herx so badly that you end up in the hospital.

SO.. to answer your question.. Yep.. That dose is identical to mine.

I didn't have HUGE herxes from it. It made me feel a bit spacy and fogged up. But glad I did it because I felt better after
NO ALCOHOL while on Flagyl. NONE!.
It can really hurt you if you mix the two.
