I was told about ten years ago by my GP that I had a heart murmur. I went to a cardiologist for a full work up because of my family history of heart disease and she said I don't have a murmur. Can lyme treatment fix a heart murmur or maybe I never had one??? I'm confused now.

I have one and some doctors can hear it, some can't. It does show up on an echo-cardiogram though. Don't think treatment can fix that but not sure.

I was told at ONE doctor's visit that I had a murmur, but then before that or after, I was never told that again (and I had tons of heart tests that never showed such a thing). So either the doctor made a mistake in listening to my heart or for some odd reason, I had one for a short time and then it cleared up? Not sure... but it sounds about like what happened to you.

I was supposedly born with one. I was told that I "grew out of it" whatever that meant.
Fast forward about 30 yrs and one day I saw a new internist and he checked my heart while I was lying down.
He asked me if I knew I had a heart murmur. I was shocked!!
I believe I've had Lyme since I was about 8 yrs old, so maybe I got a new one then?? or the old one just showed up since my heart was checked in a different manner.
I do have a MVP with moderate regurgitation which shows up on an echo.
So far, so good. Could be worse!
I doubt lyme treatment can fix it.... maybe your dr just can't hear it.
It would be a good idea to get an echocardiogram in my opinion. That way you'll know for sure.

I have a murmur, and MVP, too. Had both since I was a kid (MVP developed about a year after LLMD thinks I got Lymed)...
Some docs can hear it right away, some can't.
Some have me lie down on left side, with left arm over the head to hear better.
I agree - schedule that echo so you know what's going on with your heart.

Same for me. Heart murmur and MVP. I just found it recently, around the same time I was diagnosed with Lyme.
I have probably been Lymed since childhood.

I have always had a heart murmur, and so does my daughter. At her last check up the doc wanted to hear my murmur too, and it was gone.
Could be related to lyme and treatment, since I've been without symptoms for several months. Could be something I just grew out of, or it could be an intermittent thing.

I started being told I had a heart murmur a couple years before my lyme dx, had a work up, nothing.
When I first came down with neurolyme (pre-llmd)in 2003 I went to a internist/cardiologist who had no clue about lyme but was obsessed with my heart and did many many tests (before concluding I was healthy even though I had lyme encephalitis)
Anyway, he insisted based on one heart test I had Scarlett fever when I was a child b/c of scarring patterns...(I did not)
