I don't have a tight fascia anymore, and the trigger points are quiet. I think my only pain is from lyme and coinfections (probably babesia) and the treatment.

Is lyrica a good choice for this type of pain? I hate to keep throwing more pills into the mix. I did not do well with neurontin years ago.

I sleep well. I don't have any tingling, bad headaches, or pins and needles type pain. It all seems to be joint pain and muscle soreness.

I'm taking other pain meds, and wonder if the doc is wanting to add another type, rather than go up on what I am taking (an opiate type drug, which works well, but doesn't quite cover my pain enough).

I have done a search here, and read a lot, but still don't know what exactly lyrica is best for besides neuropathy type pain.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

glad it works for you...I couldn't get paast side effects. Lose dose 100mg of neurotin (gabapectin) works better for me.

Lyrica does have low anti-seizure properties. My PCP read it to me when I asked if workd similar to neurotin.

I tried Lyrica for what was assumed to be peripheral neuropathy, but I had muscle pain as well. Lyrica worked well for me with one MAJOR caveat... it made me unable to identify when I was too active.

I started taking the Lyrica when I was in only mild/moderate pain; worked well so I increased my activity level including exercise. However, any time I missed a dose, may pain was back and WORSE.

My doctor (not LLMD) told me this couldn't happen. He was certain it was coincidental. I do not agree. When I stopped taking Lyrica, my pain came back more severe than before I started the Lyrica.

Be careful if you try it. Hopefully, what happened to me is atypical and will not happen to you.

Lyrica has really helped me with my pain. I take 100mg three times a day, and if I miss a dose I KNOW it!

It has almost taken away aspects of my neuropathic/muscle pain. I wouldn't be the same without it.

Neurontin was terrible for me. It didn't help with the pain, and it made me so shakey I hated it. Lyrica is much better, but I can't miss a dose!

Thank you all, for your replies. I guess lyrica is used for lyme pain.

Maybe I should give it a chance. I'm just so tired of being in pain, and it looks like that's the choice I'm being given, if I want more relief than I'm currently getting.

The top two publications on this link have resources on pain treatment. They might help.

Has anyone had success using lyrica for tendon pain? That's topping my list with joint and spine pain right behind.

I've tried swithing from neurontin to lyrica but it didn't seem to help as much with the nerve pain. Maybe I'll have a better chance now that babs may be down...although bart is trying to kill me.

Really most pain is "fibro" pain and what I mean by that is "fibrous tissue pain"...that is all it means really.

Personally I have had excruciating pain and Lyrica stinks. I have widespread neuropathy and it doesn't touch it. Like you said even the opiates hardly touch the pain. I swear Xanax for most symptoms helps, it is the only thing that helps take the edge off for me. I've tried it all and all Lyrica does is make me feel weird, tired and even more hopeless than ever.

The best symptom relief is to keep hammering away at the bacteria, the more it goes the better you will feel.
