I had a negative result from fry..funny thing is, my babs titer from Igenex, and Quest was 1:640-very high!

Wow! So which is correct? Does you LLMD go with Igenex or Fry on ths one? I am assuming Igenex to be on the safe side?

Do you mean blood smear? If yes, it's hard to understand except three possibilities:
1. She's been infected after first test;
2. The technique is not stable so it missed in the first time;
3. In the first test and before, the pathogens reside only in the tissues other than the blood, then migrated from other tissues to the blood after first test.(I don't know if there is any example of pathogens with such behavior).

Whoever mentioned that a positive is more likely if the sample is drawn at night is correct. I would love to have my blood drawn around 2am or 4am. I am roused from sleep every single night around this time.
If I still had my own phlebotomy supplies, I'd draw my own samples and send them to these labs myself.

I think Fry labs is more reliable for Bart. I think Igenex FISH test is more reliable for Babs.
Sometimes, I think it takes a couple rounds to get the positive on either test as I'm sure my Mom had Bartonella even when her first Fry came up negative.
My Babs was negative on Fry but positive on Igenex FISH (apparently more sensitized testing for Babesia).
I think most of the LLMD's go by clincal symptoms anyway because the tests are just very unreliable, in general.
I was on my death bed with Lyme 6-years-ago and I still only came up equivocal on Igenex. Needless to say, my LLMD had a picc-line in my arm faster than you can say Britney Spears Federline.
I test postive for Herpes Simplex but I don't take daily zovirax or Acylovir. I just treat it when I get that one stressor cold sore on my lip a year.
I think that's what most LLMD's are doing now...treating the clinical symptoms and not treating what doesn't seem to be broken or is clearly in remission.

Hubby had positive bloodslide for both Bart and Babs first test. Treated Babs then had 2nd test 6 months later. 2nd test only showed Bart on bloodslide.
Unfortunately 1 year after 1st test now having Babs symptoms again.
In treatment for Babs, Bart and Lyme currently. First time have ever treated all 3 infections concurrently -- pulsing low doses of 5 diferent antibiotics. Seems to actually be working.

The test is good, we considered having another one done on my daughter since the last one was done over a year ago.
However, symptoms show she is still fighting bacteria, so what's the use in spending the money?
At least with the positive tests, we know what we are fighting.
I think it's that "dip a cup in the ocean" analogy. When you are only looking at a smeared drop of blood on a slide, there are several pints of blood still coursing through the body and a ton of tissue for the bugs to hide.
It really is a gamble.

Can someone give me the prices on the tests for Fry and Igenex. Also, which tests are generally necessary for someone who is seeing an LLMD for the first time, and needs broad spectrum testing which is affordable.

If money was really tight I would just order the bloodslide stain for $295 -- that would cover both Babesia and Bartonella. Hubby has done this test while treating Babs so in my opinion one does not need to go off antibiotics to get a positive test result.
Hubby has never had much luck with IGeneX tests or any other Lyme tests so someone else will need to give you suggestions on that lab.
