Wondering if anyone has experienced incredible stabbing pain that started under the chin and spread to the jaws, the neck and the esophagus. It felt like some nerve was being twisted and lasted for about 1/2 hour, then subsided. I went to the cardiologist and was told, after wearing a halter for 24 hours, that my heart is okay... What could it be. I live with the fear that it will happen again.
Thank you

I experience this....it runs along my jaw - up into my ear - and follows a path to the top of my skull - and runs down from my ear into my neck

It runs along a nerve path....my teeth so far are fine. When antibiotics are working it is better....so don't give up hope. Are you on an antibiotic therapy?

I have lived with this and so much more for so long......what is life like without pain??? I can't remember.

Hi Deep in tis Pear,

This is one of the most disabling of my symptoms, in fact, I was laid up the last several days with this severe pain that flares up for a period of time

Then goes back to just a pain in the jaw.

This last flare was the nerve/blood vessels up throuh maxillary and up through eye. Also lots of pain in neck and down spine and even to the hips. And hardened lymph nodes/neck and swelling at back of head with possible swelling lymph nodes.

Often it is severe enough to cause vomiting.

I am headed to an endodontist next week, then possible an oral surgeon, after trying to address this already for years.

I have atypical trigeminal neuralgia and might also have some trouble with a specific tooth.

It's a run on problem.

Good luck........

Hi, I have recently developed this symptom which has lasted a 4 full months.

Feels like a severe toothache, actually, more like a tooth in dire need of a root canal. Horrible nerve pain...

Take it from me, I have been to the dentist 5 times and an orthodontist, and the pain is NOT from a decayed tooth/teeth, etc.

It has occurred mostly on left side, but has been on both now.

I ended up writing here on this board desperately asking if anyone else experienced this symptom cause it was excrutiating and just needed someone to say, "YES I had that" just as you have.

I finally accepted it was indeed NERVE related [there are 2 nerves in the face] and after in-depth research on line, I came to the realization it was not Trigeminal Neuralgia, but a symptom of NEURO LYME. I had Neuro Lyme.

I have found warm to very hot compresses have helped alot, as well as NSAIDS, but let me tell you, it can be extremely painful.

I am writing this holding my breath that talking about it does not jinx myself cause the last 2 days, the pain has been minimal for the first time since it started.

Hope this helps in that you know you are not alone in dealing with this devastating symptom. Feel free to PM if you need support.

Tick Tock
Lisa
