I'm getting a lot better, I think. The fatigue is, while not completely gone by any means, much less. No dizzyness or any other neuro symptoms at all, no visual problems.

Joint pain is 25% what it was a month ago. Still have quite a bit of muscle pain, though, and still poor stamina. Occasional random twitches, but down to only noticing one or two a day.

(This improvment from 200mg doxy, 400mg plaquenil per day)

The one thing that's bugging me now is, in the last few days, I've started having a very uncomfortable tightness in my chest/occasional short of breath feeling.

A few days ago, it was on and off, for brief periods, yesterday it was on 90%, only off for a little while at a time, mostly when my girlfriend was keeping my mind off it.

I've seen a lot of people around here say that the this symptom is usually Babs.

Naturally, this all started right after leaving my LLMDs office, so I couldn't ask him about it. (incidentally, now on the 400mg plaquenil + 500mg Zith, switched because I'm trying to stay active outside and don't want sun problems from doxy)

My LLMD doesn't think I have babs (although, like I said, I haven't talked to him since this showed up). I haven't actually been tested for it (unless he tested for it when he was testing for Lyme, and he didn't tell me, or I forgot...that's possible).

However, I don't have any other symptoms of it (according to my doc and the bart/babs questionnaire here) everything I have is typical Lyme, and everything seems to have responded very well to the Lyme treatment.

Also, we think this is a relapse of the Lyme I had 15 years ago, and I didn't have any coinfections then (at least, that we know of)

Still, should I go back to my LLMD and ask for testing/treatment, or just wait and see if the Lyme treatment takes care of it? It does seem to have helped everything else.

I'm really hoping this goes away quickly, since I've had plans for this weekend for close to a year now (long before Lyme showed up), and this is uncomfortable enough to put a serious hurt on them.

...I just started to rethink the "no other symptoms" part, because I started getting a chill down the back of my neck and started to worry...then realized I was sitting under an Air Conditioner vent. *sigh* I need to get more sleep! =P

Wonderful to hear that you are getting better!

You could have just lyme but it seems like the majority of people seem to have one or more co-infections.

I have lyme, bart, babs and lots of viruses. I've noticed that when one infection is being treated, the others will often get worse.

Chest tightness for me seems to be related to babs but it could be other things for you too. I would make sure to be tested for babesia and all co-infections.

That said, my tests for babs were negative but I clearly have it based on treatment response. There are quite a few strains of babs that are not tested for so like lyme, it is a clinical diagnosis.

In my personal experience, the feeling of air hunger can be from either babs or lyme toxins. Increasing acetylcholine or treating for babs both help my air hunger.

Be sure to get copies of all your test results. It can be difficult to get them if you wait and it is very helpful to have them on hand.

I get chest tightness in center of breastbone. It may be from the doxy? or babs? In Dr. S's babesia book he lists tightness in the chest as a side effect of the doxycycline.

My doctor wants to put me on just plaquenil and stop the doxy, but it sounds like it's a good combo for you. Maybe, I should just continue the doxy and add the plaquenil???

Plaquenil is a cyst buster and also goes after babesia. did you have any side effects from the Plaquenil?

How long have you been treated and how long have you had Lyme? I'm glad to see you are geting better.

Anyone else have chest tightness? What do you think it is? Stress? Angina?

That's a sign of Lyme: Lyme germs in the heart muscle.
