What is "sugar busters"? Or do you just mean eliminating sugar? On that note, did anyone have asthma symptoms that subsided on an anti-inflammatory diet?

there is a diet book called sugar busters.... I used it plus eliminated my food allergies.

You don't really need the book, it just eliminates sugar and helps you understand the glycemic index, etc. I just used some of the ideas from the diet.

There was also a recent discussion of the "lyme inflammation diet" which is a chapter in the book shown at this site: www.lymedoctor.com

TF,

I have a friend who went to this doctor. She was so ill from Lyme she had to go on disability 5 yrs prior. She was an art teacher at a prominent college in our area and the sound of the students pencils was so loud to her she could not bear it.

So, she went to this doctor and he put her on IV abx. She is now back at work and considers herself healed.

I particularly love the fact he is a member of ACAM in addition to his impressive conventional medical training.

ACAM is the American College for the Advancement of Medicine. My first doctor was not a lyme specialist but was a member of ACAM and he spent a year working to get my body back in balance so it could heal itself.

I thrived under his care and my Rheum. Arthritis dropped from a high moderate (don't let the word moderate confuse you, that is a serious level of RA) to a weak positive.

www.acam.org has a "find a physician" feature.

I recommend starting by cutting out dairy. I see an increase in inflammation within 24 hours of cheating on dairy.

So I've been really good. No dairy, white flour products or sugar. I do have a little sugar in the form of honey in my tea.

Are pumpernickel bread and Kashi cereal kind of okay? I've been using soy milk in the cereal.

I've been eating mostly salad w/balsamic vinaigrette and chick peas, organic lentil or black bean soup, meat, fish, kashi cereal, eggs, pumpernickel bread, green tea w/a little honey, water w/lemon. Is this acceptable? I've lost some weight which is nice!

My pain is better but I've also been off of all meds for a few days.

I just cheated w/a little coffee. I know it's bad but it smelled SO good! [Roll Eyes]

Hi all!
I think I have a pretty good diet except for black tea with milk or cream. It's my one addiction and I'm working on it.

I don't think soy milk is any better. STill contains sugar.

Kashi.. maybe

Cereal.. not really

Do you eat any green vegetables besides peas?

Sometimes the vinegar can be counter-productive when trying to eliminate yeast.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news!! [bonk]

I eat tons of salad and I throw the chick peas in for protein.

Didn't know that about the vinegar. So what can I put on my salad? Is any fruit okay? I had a ton of watermelon today and now my lungs feel really tight.

I'm supposed to have a metacholine challenge this week to test for asthma. Does anyone know if that's okay? I have mycoplasma and I found out it can cause asthma. I'm hoping the lung symptoms will eventually go away w/abx treatment and don't want to do more damage w/the metacholine test.
