i have the results of the cd57, is 157, i'd like to know your opinions because i fell worse, i can't walk; this result mean that bb is not the problem? the symptoms are by other things or a coinfection? thank you

Hi Antsettler!
Possibly you had the CD 57 too soon. It's a measure of how far worn down your immune system is from Lyme. How long have you had signs and symptoms?

i am also interested in the # for the CD-57 test...i read somewere that 180 or above is normal..below 60 is your real sick...how or what #'s are we looking for to tell if meds are working at all??

Hi Madge,
The CD 57 is for SCREENING purposes, to help with diagnosis.
Some doctors use it to check for progress, yet when used in this way, there are varied opinions on whether when used for that purpoe it is valid.

I only had my CD57 checked after one year of treatment.
It was 100.
Many believe that this isn't a reliable indicator of how "well" you are.
After searching various posts on it, it seems the consensus is a high CD57
Along with feeling very ill, may be an indicator of a co-infection.
My LLMD and I discussed the reliability of the CD57 (Thanks all for the info).
He believes that it is part of the overall picture,
But not a determination of how you should feel.

The CD-57 isn't a conclusive mark of anything in parrticular. You're right, you could have co-infections, you might not be experiencing the immunosuppression significantly yet, or you may have recently been infected.
It's possible to be infected and have test results like that. It's just circumstantial evidence.
