Igenex only tests biopsied material for Lyme at this time. I was hoping to find a lab that can test biopsied tissue for the various co-infections. Fry only works w/blood.

The reason why is that I'd like to have this persistent rash I have biopsied and checked for everything, but maybe technology isn't there yet.

If anyone has any leads on this, I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Patti

Perhaps try MDL Labs in Mt Laurel? New Jersey. Although their testing has been questionable recently, I think they may do it.

Hi Patti,

I'm awaiting results from several biopsies from MDL in NJ. They're testing for several coinfections such as bartonella and mycoplamsa. The biopsies were taken from the stomach and small intestine via endoscopy.

I'll see if I can find the bill (fee) and if there were other tests done.

Patti, if you have an EM rash, be sure the biopsy is taken at the inner edge of the advancingexpanding part of the lesion. I wasted $250 because the physician biopsied the wrong site. He took the biopsy from bite site in the center of the rash, not the active part of the rash where the bacteria are growing. If this procedure had been done correctly I would have had a positive PCR from my EM.

Also, the biopsy doesn't go in formalin...the preservative.

MDL of NJ wants biopsy samples placed in phosphate buffered saline, which they provide when you request a test kit.
