You could be herxing, although with the vomiting it could be an increase in liver enzymes, I would call your doc and let them know how you feel. They may want to do a blood test. I am not a doctor.

Hi Surfrider [Smile]

I have no advice for your reactions but want to wish you well [Smile] You kindly answered my question a few days ago regarding IV lines and I am now clear on that in part thanks to your help!

I too will be starting these IV abx soon, so maybe we can compare the experience? Obviously everyone is different though...

Hope someone can shed light on your current experience? BTW, does you doctor require weekly bloodwork (CMP and CBC) while on IV rocephin?

Take Care, MBB3

Dear surfrider19,
I started Iv Ceftriaxone(same as Rocephin) May 6.
Four days on and three off. Today I started flagyl for 14 days. I am also taking urso(to protect gallbladder).
My 2nd day on Rocephin I got a panic attack and hallucination, but since then I have had no problems.
The IV is a pain in the neck, but I thought I would feel alot worse. On my 3rd day my body pain seems to get alot better.
I suppose we are all different.
Good luck!

Hey there. We can herx together!

I started IV ceft on Tues and am herxing badly. The glands behind my ears and all down my neck are hard, large and so sore - I can't move my head. I am in pain all over and have started having chills and shakes too.

Hang in there! I tend to be good in the morning before the ceft goes in. I then go really bad in the afternoon and evening. Panadol helps with the pain and chills.

Good luck!
