I'm very familiar....one month into IV (2g/day) both my ALT and AST levels hit the 800's. I was also having horrible gallbladder attacks which was an added treat! I was immediately taken off of all medications, monitored every couple of days and a week later placed back on oral antibiotics. After a few weeks, my liver was back to normal. I've been treating 10 months and I've never had any other issues.

The fact that you are pulsing the IV may help avoid any issues. Many swear by Milk THISTLE as well to help avoid liver issues.

My liver enzymes shot through the roof after only a week of IV Rocephin - actually, I think it was more like 4 days.

Let's just say it was painful.
