On particularly bad days or herxes, I will have to burp a lot (usually with loss of appetite along with being nauseated). I don't notice the chest pressure along with it though.
But I do have that burp problem when I'm feeling badly.

This is one of my major problems. Constant burbing for last 3 years.Doesn't matter what i eat or drink, i will burp afterwards.
I have alot of upper left chest presure also. My burping is so bad i feel it effects my vagus nerve, which inturn gives heart palps and i get lightheaded.
i have had alot of cardiac tests done and no Dr. has told me it is related to my heart as the origin, however, for me it definately has an effect on my heart.
If i had to guess it could be related to gastroparesis(which could cause small bowel bacterila overgrowth (sibo)- which is tested by a lactulose test)or maybe candida overgrowth.
Do a search on this site i think for a Dr sherr called Bells Palsey of the Gut.
It is a great article
good luck

This was one of my earliest symptoms and unfortunately still bothers me sometimes.
I have episodes of pressure (sometimes tingling feeling) in the upper chest (close to left shoulder)/left arm and difficulty breathing. This may or may not be accompanied by lightheadedness and irregular heartbeat. As the pressure reduces, I have a long bout of burping.
I have been to a couple of cardiologists and they assure me that there is no cardiovascular involvement.
FWIW, I have recently been diagnosed with SIBO. I am not sure if there is any connection. My GP thinks these symptoms might be related to autonomic dysfunction.

Thank you for your responses. Early in illness before I knew what it was that I was dealing with, these symptoms sent me to the ER several times.
This was 15-18 years ago. Intermitently throughout the years I have had these episodes as well. I have had several full heart work-ups in the past and my EKG 2 months ago was very good. All of my past heart work-ups were normal as well.
What is SIBO? My nurse who I saw today thinks maybe reflux?

Ali, Peck, and Ctlyme, you have described the feeling exactly...palpitations, tingling and all. Just wante to see if others experienced this as well.
But it does feel very cardiac related

I have found that this helps me a great deal. I use an essential oil in a vegan cap. It is called thieves by young living.
I have given this to a few clients that had this and also very high yeast as well. It works great for both, and is non toxic now that it is just herbs. kind regards,
Julia

Sounds like a sx of bart.
I have it alot, specially when moving in any vehicle,,,used to be to the point of nausa. Lightheadness
Then I discovered eatting sunflower seeds or chewing gum reduces it immensely!!
Something to do with saliva I spose,I dunno. does chewing on something make it worse or better,,,not hard to TRY!!!

My husband has had this for the last two plus years, loud enough I can hear him two floors away. Seems to be stimulated by swallowing (i.e drinking esp.) or when I flush his PICC line. He also has a cooresponding mid-chest pressue and mild nausea when they are bad. It is worst when he gets the belching and hiccups at the same time...seems like his diapraghm and esophagus are both spasming and usually ends up making him gag/vomit. However, he has found that eating a tablespoon or two of peanut butter will get rid of the hiccuups. The belching is persistent, 50-100-150 times a day. Fecal cultures have always been negative and there is no associated abdominal bloating/swelling or any other yeast symptoms. LLMD attributes it to nerve inflammaton/irritation due to the lyme/treatment. FWIW.... Kristie

Prior to Lyme i never had bouts of burping. When i took Doxy (prior to lyme dx) i had a major herx that sent me to the hospital
I remember having a tremendous amount of belching and trapped gas im my chest.
Nerve irratation/inflamation seems reasonable.
I still feel it has effected my vagus nerve to the point of reducing blood pressure and slowing the heart.
Crazy symptoms related to TBD's to be sure. Trying to rationalize them can make you nuts

JustDon-
Thank you for posting about chewing gum! I was having the awful burping and pressure last night and read your post.....
Got a stick of gum and chewed it, it helped a great deal, not total relief, but made things much better.

Not to keep harping on the vagus nerve issue, but i think i read somewhere that the vagus nerve has something to do w/ hiccups.
