Very good post. Thanks a lot.

Interestingly, on slide 18 the author states

"Synergizing co-infections ALWAYS present in LBC"

Is the author really saying that all Bb comes with a co-infector?

I believe that he is saying that "Lyme Borreliosis Complex" would be Bb+co-infection and thereby be more difficult to Dx/Tx. I think that is where the "complex" comes into play.

I could be mistaken.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synergy

Synergy (from the Greek syn-ergo ,συνεργός meaning working together, circa 1660 ) pp

refers to the phenomenon in which two or more discrete influences or agents acting together create an effect greater than that predicted by knowing only the separate effects of the individual agents........whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

I think he means that combination infections are worse than individual infections.
