Hi,

For you who have used rifampin. Did you get orange urine? And how strong was to color?

I've got a orange color to my urine, but it's not that strong. I can see it if I take a urine sample and look at the glass, but not if I look in the toilet adter I'm done..

Yes, Rifampin can make your pee look koolaid orange.

Your doc should be testing your liver every two weeks while on it.

Ask him/her about taking Milk Thistle to help detox the liver as well.

Stong med but it kicks Bart butt!!!

I'm not a doc but an old pt. of Bart's! [Wink]

Yup, orange pee...it can also turn your tears and sweat orange as well.

If you wear soft contacts, do not when taking Rifampin, stain them as well.

Ah the joys of treatment! [Wink]

Well, the reason for asking is that I wonder if my medicine is real...

My urine is NOT orange if I look at it in the toilet after I am done (should it be orange if the urine is in the toilet...?)

But I can see that my urine is orange if I pee in a empty sample glass...

Are there any cleaning agents tablets or other sort of containers in the tank of the toilet ? While most of days past were "tidy bowl blue" some these days may be clear, but creating a chemical mix, nonetheless, with each flush.

well when you pee in the toilet your urine is diluted out from the bowl water. Also Keebler is right about the chemicals, even bleach products will interfere.

nope. No cleaning agents.

Yes, that's what I am thinking about. The urine will be diluted from the bowl water. But should the bowl water be orange after one is done?

Mine is not...
