Yeah, I had heard something like that. I wish I knew about the bands. TRying to help a newbie.

When I was tested by MDL in 3/07...they did great on all co's and HHV's and EBV...My LLLMD had them run for Lyme even though we did Igenex. At that time, they did not test all bands, and I was negative thru MDL, but high negative.

I was tested by MDL in 12/07. Looking at the copy of the WBs, it looks like they do test for 30 and 31 (it's on the printout).
However, from also going over the results, it doesn't look like they report IND bands. Just pos ones.
Example: on my report, when they report Intensity, % of cutoff, there are 3 bands that were high enough to list.
However, on the summary page, they only listed one of those 3 as being positive.
Their reports are very different from Igenex. You actually get a copy of the bands themselves.
While only 3 bands were listed in total, there were several more bands that showed up on the WB itself that were not reported.
Guess the levels weren't high enough.
It's kinda neat to see, but doesn't make it any more accurate.

They provide a report with the bands that only test positive. (Remember in the minds of CDC/powers that be this is a yes or no test).
MDL also provides a copy of the actual Western Blot. They report out the intensity of all bands that are found. Those that do not make the cutoff of 90 are the same as the igenix indeterminate. By providing a copy of the Blot itself you get a better idea as to what the test result truly is.
