Went to the local walk in center with visable tick byte and tick. The guy was REAL arrogant and hesitantly gave me a 2 week supply of Doxy and the kicker is .... only 200mg per day! HOW is that going to help?!?!
I swear he was unbelievable. He says to me "did it bleed when you took it off?" and I said "I don't know...my husband pulled it off and wiped the area down with alcahol ..why?" and he said (get this) "well if it didn't bleed then how do you know if it was even attached?"
@*%^#@ OMG I said to him "because my husband had to pull it out with the tweezers! and what about this red bite spot on my leg you just looked at?"
He said he would give me another 2 weeks if the test was positive. HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
Now what? its obvious that 200mg is not enough. pattie

Do you have an LLMD that treated you before? perhaps you could call and get an rx for the appropriate amount of doxy.

I do not have an LLMD anymore as I cannot afford one. I posted earlier in the morning that I take my 2 children to the best ped llmd and we have been needing his services for the last 8 years and I cant afford another one.
My trusty regular MD who was awesome on the lyme front retired last Dec. and now Im lost.

Hey PC...
With what he gave you and what you already had... will that work?
And yes.. he is an idiot... but...
They are an "emergency care" center. That is the typical amount they give. The deal is they want you to then follow up with your regular doctor.
I was hoping they would be better.. but they were "standard".
Docs around here are reading about the IDSA corruption in the newspapers and are starting to be a bit more reasonable and not so all out ugly. I have had several reports where patients were given better doses after the docs read about the IDSA problems with the Attorney General.
Maybe print out the AG's press release and send it to that office?
Education NOW may not help you 100 percent... but maybe the next person will be helped.
