i have been on biaxin(1000 mg daily) and plaquenil (400mg daily) for 2 wks to treat neuro lyme. the other day out of nowhere my body felt extremely heavy like i was going to fall down.now have this feeling since it has happened. could this have been caused by one of the meds.
since that has never been a symptom due to lyme itself, i am wondering if it is from the meds as a side effect.
could anyone please write back what they think because im not sure.
thanks
di

I was on biax & plaqu for 6 months. I have to say the first 4 to 5 weeks were brutal on my body. I hung in there and did improve but have since changed meds.

I wrote in a journal (when I remembered to)and just checked. I did have the heavy feeling particularly in my neck and shoulders.

I was given injections for it and that symptom did improve.

The best thing to do is write down how your feeling because this dang disease could make you easily forget! Call you doc and explain.

good luck....and it will get better. The difficulties living with lyme is worse than what any treatment can do to you.

Sounds like you should call your LLMD!!

Could mean you have babesia, since that combo can work on babesia to some extent.

How many weeks, months have you been on abx?

Sounds horrible, sorry to hear you are experiencing this.

I have been on Biaxin combo's not w/Plaq though and not had this, but I have known others who describe what you have perfectly.

I would let my LLMD know exactly what is happening and if it is "normal" herxing for this combo.

Take care.
