I've had Lyme's disease for over a year. I read that increasing the core body temperature can kill off spirochetes and help with detox. A dry sauna has been recommended to me. Any thoughts on this? Any recommendations on the frequency and duration of sauna session?

My LLMD recomends a sauna because of heat shock proteins.

When I first did a sauna, I herxed. I though it was killing the spirochetes but I think it's really about detoxing.
Now, I usually feel better 'from' herxing after doing a sauna.
It may just be that you have alot of toxins that need releasing.
I don't own a sauna but I go to a great Korean sauna when I can. I usually feel better afterwards.
Sometimes, I might feel a bit worse during the sauna but I usually end up feeling better later. The place i go to has hot & cold tubs & steam rooms, too.
You just have to go slow & do things gradually.
