I am having back surgery on july 2nd for a bad spondylothesis (slipped vertebrae) I waited as long as possible but it has to be done or I cant walk, sit, stand anymore.
does anyone know where I can send samples of biopsies or bone fragments to be tested for lyme?

to Paul Duray, MD... at NIH. I believe he is Lyme friendly.
Best wishes with the surgery. I do so hope you obtain the relief you need and deserve!!

MDL in NJ will test tissue and they are great for lyme and mycolplasma testing.
Call there before the surgery and they will tell you how the doc should prepare the sample. That way you will have enough to send out to the lab and enough for the hospital lab.

i don't think duray is still at nih. last time i found him he was in boston. ilads put me in touch with him-if you go to their site it tells you how to email them. they get back to you quick-but if you need it in less than 24 hrs you might have to call.
i have tried to have a number of tissues tested...and run into a lot of trouble with the regular docs. it is very hard to do it right if an llmd is not in consultation with them. even then it is hard.
good luck. (ps-i'm kayak on pigwit's computer)
