Read Amalgam Illness by Andrew Cutler. He is known as the best expert.

w.a.y.,

In April 06, I did the urine challenge test for heavy metals and came back very toxic in lead and highly elevated in mercury. This was just before removing my last 3 mercury amalgam fillings.

The doctor explained to me then that this test is just the tip of the iceberg. He said he uses a very small amount of DMSA to pull the metals into the urine.

Even though I was a candidate for the IV chelation, I was too inflammed and sick. Chelation is a dangerous process and should only be handled by a qualified physician.

Oral, OTC chelation stuff may be fine for people who detox well, but it could kill me.

So, my chelation has been very mild and slow to accomodate my body which is practically defunct in the detox dept.

Two years later, I am still not ready for chelation.

Drs have been chelating me by giving me IVs of glutathione. This is a natural substance produced by your liver. Research has found that healthy people have high levels of glut and sick people do not.

I have changed my diet drastically to one that is mostly vegetarian, mostly akaline. I supplement glutathione precursors...that is, they set my body up to produce more glutathione naturally. Genetically, I am very defective in my ability to produce glut and therefore I do not detox anything very well.

Abx I have taken in the past have congregated in me. Pesticides, herbicides, cigarette smoke both first and second hand, exhaust fumes, mold toxins have all been accumulating in me over the years.

Add to that load, lyme, H. Pylori, C. Pneumoniae, Mycoplasmas, Babesia and you see why I am a member of lymenet.

From the start, the doctor has had two main areas of focus for me. Strengthen my body with nutrition and chelate me slowly. Low levels of abx to tackle the bugs. We have to go easy on the abx because they make me more toxic.

I made rapid gains with some setbacks. Initially it felt like 1 step forward, 2 back. Then 2 steps forward and 1 back.

Nowadays, I feel normal most of the time with an occasional flare to remind me I am still a sick person.

Still, the doctor is not ready to chelate me with IV. See how long this can take?

During my first year, a thread came on lymenet regarding zeolite which is an organic rock that is good for chelating the body. Particularly a brand called Destroxin.

I started it on my own and blew my right knee up the size of a basketball. My doctor was so upset. He said "Run anything and everything by me before you try it. With you, we must go very slow."

So, I tell you this to let you know:

1-It may take time. Diet is a huge benefit

2-Don't rush out and try OTC products. You may make yourself worse.
